Amb. Sujan R. Chinoy at 28th Feria Universitaria del Libro (University Book Fair) On 12 August 2015

On 12 August 2015 Ambassador Sujan R. Chinoy gave details of India's participation as Guest Nation of Honour at the prestigious 28th Feria Universitaria del Libro (University Book Fair) scheduled to take place at the Autonomous University of the State of Hidalgo (UAEH-Universidad Autonoma del Estado de Hidalgo) in Pachuca (Hidalgo State, Mexico) from 21-30 August 2015, at a Press Conference at the Hilton Hotel in Mexico City, alongside UAEH Rector Humberto Augusto Veras Godoy and other members of the Organising Committee. The Gurudev Tagore Indian Cultural Centre of the Embassy of India will organise performances of traditional dance (Bharatnatyam, Mohiniattam), classical instrumental music (Sitar, Tabla) and screen Indian Films/Documentaries, beginning with the epic film "Gandhi". A Photo Exhibition titled "Churches of Goa" will be part of the event. A massive public Yoga demonstration-cum-class will be organised during the Book Fair, beginning with the screening of Hon'ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi's message regarding the first International Day of Yoga held on 21 June 2015. The Indian Women's Association of Mexico, popularly known by its acronym IWAM, will stage a Fashion Show and a Gastronomical Demonstration. IWAM members will also set up various stalls to showcase Indian dresses and handicrafts. Well-known Indian companies BAJAJ and JK Tornel (which have manufacturing plants in Mexico), will exhibit their products- motorcycles & three-wheelers, and tires, respectively.
