October 02,Mahatma Gandhi's birth anniversary, commonly known as Gandhi Jayanti in India! In 2007, the United Nations declared 2 October, the birthday of Mahatma Gandhi, leader of the Indian independence movement, Father of the Indian Nation, and, the apostle of Truth and Non-violence, as the International Day of Yoga. In Mexico, there are schools named after Mahatma Gandhi. One such school is the No. 70 Mohandas K. Gandhi Secondary School (public school), which has a bust of that great human being, donated by the Embassy of India in 1981. H.E. Ambassador Sujan R. Chinoy, visited the School today to pay a floral tribute to Mahatma Gandhi and to donate more than 100 books and documentaries on Indian thought, philosophy and culture. In his remarks in Spanish, Ambassador emphasized to the students and teachers the ideals of Mahatma Gandhi and their relevance to contemporary themes such as peace, security and development, equality and non-discrimination, universal brotherhood, gender equality, sustainable development and protection of the environment.Ambassador Sujan Chinoy's Remarks to Mexican school children on 2 October 2015 Mexico @YouTube:
